Challenge
The client needed a robust and highly secure intralogistics cart tailored to specific component transport requirements. The key challenge was to mitigate serious workplace risks, such as involuntary cart movement and structural tipping hazards caused by expanding multiple heavy shelves simultaneously during loading cycles.
Solution
Proximo designed and manufactured an ergonomic industrial logistics cart featuring an advanced dual-action mechanical safety matrix. The system integrates a selective shelf-interlocking mechanism alongside an automatic standby braking assembly. The platform is highly customizable, allowing adaptation into dedicated training configurations with tailored protective interiors.
Scope of Work
Comprehensive engineering, safety optimization, and adaptation options:
- Mechanical design of the modular cart frame supporting customizable shelf distances, dimensions, and loads
- Development of a precise two-point locking mechanism for secure shelf extension
- Integration of an anti-tilt safety system preventing more than one shelf from sliding out at a time
- Engineering of an automatic standby brake system (applied at rest) with an ergonomic front release lever
- Custom modification layouts, including conversion into training racks with custom shadow-foam component cutouts
Outcome
The delivered carts successfully eliminated handling risks and accidental crushing hazards within the facility. The versatile architecture ensures the system can be quickly scaled or modified for secondary deployment goals, providing both an ultra-secure transport platform and an organized tool for component training.
