Challenge

During the global mobilization against the COVID-19 virus, healthcare facilities required an automated method to sanitize protective garments. The challenge was to design a system capable of handling garment transport while precisely applying anti-bacterial and anti-viral nanoparticles via an optimized steam derivative medium under strict process controls.

Solution

Proximo engineered a specialized decontamination stand divided into three functional blocks: an automated garment transit workspace, a dedicated fluid preparation cart with high-efficiency steam generators, and an integrated digital control hub. This configuration ensures an optimal, repeatable application of protective nanoparticle layers onto medical apparel.

Scope of Work

Comprehensive engineering and system integration services:

  • Mechanical design of the primary workspace for safe garment transport from outer zones to the application area
  • Development of a mobile chemical storage and dosing cart to manage fluid composition parameters
  • Integration of high-performance industrial steam generators for substance atomization
  • Engineering of an automated central control unit with a high-definition human-machine interface (HMI) screen
  • Calibration of thermodynamic and flow parameters to ensure optimal nanoparticle binding on textile surfaces

Outcome

The deployed system provided an effective, high-throughput solution for strengthening biological protection protocols. The intuitive touch-control interface allows operators to seamlessly monitor all subcomponents and quickly adjust application profiles, ensuring highly reliable virus-fighting treatment for medical clothing.
