Challenge

The client required an adaptation of their existing facility infrastructure to expand the testing capabilities of a fuel pump test bench. The project demanded upgrading the fluid handling setup to safely receive, prepare, and transfer hazardous JET A-1 aviation fuel within an environment with strict hazardous zone restrictions.

Solution

Proximo designed and engineered an intermediate fuel conditioning and pumping sub-system connected directly to the room’s main fuel supply. The entire integration, including fluid conditioning loops and delivery circuits to the main bench tank, was developed in absolute compliance with the ATEX directive regulations.

Scope of Work

Comprehensive engineering and infrastructure modification services:

  • Technical evaluation and adaptation design for the existing fuel pump test bench infrastructure
  • Engineering of a dedicated intake and preparation system optimized for JET A-1 aviation fuel
  • Development of a high-reliability pumping system to feed the main tank of the test bench
  • Selection and integration of explosion-proof, ATEX-compliant equipment and instrumentation
  • System manufacturing, installation, and rigorous safety commissioning on-site

Outcome

The infrastructure modification successfully enabled additional, advanced testing protocols on the fuel pump rig. By maintaining a continuous, optimized, and explosion-secure medium supply, the facility maximized its diagnostic capabilities while ensuring top-tier occupational safety standards.
